Let someday be today.
It was 2014, and we were just getting started on our home journey. Back then, we were just a couple of 20-something year olds who had been living for 5 years in a trailer with their two kids on a vacant lot, wondering if we had what it took to get the home of our dreams. We didn’t have a lot of money, just a lot of foolishness, bravado, and the desire to get something more out of life.
We took the plunge. We were lucky enough to have found contractors who saw where we lived and decided they were going to help us help ourselves. There were so many things that could’ve gone wrong, but they didn’t. With the right guidance and our combined professional experience in the engineering, manufacturing, and construction industries, we as owner-builders completed our custom home build in record time and went 28% under budget. In less than two years, we were living in our own 4-bedroom home with a den, a basement, and more outdoor space than we could have ever dreamed of–all of this before we were 30 years old.
Soon after, we started Sunbear Solutions with the goal of giving back. We wanted our clients to have the experience we had, an experience that we know isn’t the norm for people dealing with contractors: to have someone who understands their vision, to feel seen and heard, and most importantly, to deal with people who have integrity. We don’t promise perfection–any company that does is lying to get your money–but we promise to provide a partner who understands the meaning of the word “professionalism” and won’t leave you in the dust. We understand things like the kids are growing up, you’re tired, and the years are leaving your projects behind, but you’ve worked hard, and you deserve less stress. You deserve a partner who sees the value of your dreams and understands your unique vision.
Since we launched in 2016, we’ve helped small businesses expand and assisted others in weathering tough times. The Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 gave us a chance to commit to the business even more, with clients who rose to the challenge of providing masks when supplies were low. We’ve expanded quite a bit since then, with employees and a vehicle fleet, as we embarked into more interesting projects and treaded new waters.
With our Home Improvement Solutions, we went back to basics, because there’s quite nothing like seeing the smile on homeowners’ faces when they realize we’re here to help. We see ourselves as Project Managers first, and we want to alleviate the usual homeowner stress of micromanaging trades and handymen. With our One-Stop Shop, you can get estimates and schedule simpler tasks at the click of a button.
And yes, we’re insured.
